ISCA TECHNOLOGIES AWARDED PHASE II U.S. DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE CONTRACT
FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF A LURE AND TRAP SPECIFIC FOR THE DENGUE / YELLOW FEVER MOSQUITO
ISCA Technologies (Riverside, CA) is pleased to announce that
it was awarded the Phase II contract worth $730,000 for the
research and development of "Innovative Trap Lured with Highly
Effective Attractant for Adult Mosquito Vectors of Dengue Fever."
In Phase I, ISCA successfully met or exceeded most of the R&D objectives, e.g. ISCA surpassed the expectations of trap efficiency described in the original solicitation. These include specifications for trap weight, size, storage and lure composition requirements. Importantly, the trap captures closely approximated human-biting collections in lab tests.
In Phase II, ISCA aims to refine specific end product requirements
desired by the U.S. Army such as size, weight, power management,
lure attractancy and storage life optimization; and develop
rugged prototypes for field testing in various locations of
the world.
