ABOUT THE ENTREPRENEUR OF THE YEAR PROGRAM

We live in the age of the Entrepreneur. Their importance - for our community and our economy - is unparalleled. They create and innovate to change our world. Entrepreneurs are a special breed - they see opportunity where others see problems; they believe their ideas can be achieved when others say they can't; they passionately bring their dreams to life. They embody a spirit - the Spirit of Entrepreneurship - that is the hallmark of America.

The Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship at California State University San Bernardino, The Press Enterprise, and The Business Press have entered into a unique partnership to establish the annual "Spirit of the Entrepreneur" Awards Program in the Inland Empire. This program has come to life as a result of our passionate belief that the Inland Empire community should honor and reward the entrepreneurial men and women who innovate, take risks and build businesses that contribute significantly to our local economy.

The Spirit of the Entrepreneur Awards honors Inland Empire entrepreneurs in nine different categories: Emerging Entrepreneur, Technology Entrepreneur, Social Entrepreneur, Corporate Entrepreneur, Supporter of Entrepreneurship, Innovator, Family Business Entrepreneur, General Entrepreneur, and the Lifetime Spirit of Entrepreneurship (www.spiritawards.biz).
