For the management of oriental fruit moth, Grapholita molesta
SPLAT OFM for the oriental fruit moth, Grapholita molesta, SPLAT OFM 30M-1 is an environmentally friendly mating disruption product that provides sustained and controlled release of the OFM pheromone. Independent field studies on three continents have shown SPLAT OFM to be as or more effective than leading mating disruption products. For most orchards, one application of SPLAT OFM has been demonstrated to provide mating disruption protection for the whole season. SPLAT OFM is an outstanding alternative to standard pesticide treatments, where moths are found to develop resistance to insecticides. Additionally, SPLAT products are less expensive to apply than other conventional pheromone dispensers since application is less labor intensive; mechanical applications include the use of: tractors, metered backpack sprayers, caulking guns, aircraft, etc.
The OFM is a very damaging pest of apple, peach and many stone
fruits. Infestation of the OFM is found in all regions of North
America, primarily the mid-Atlantic region of the United States, and
many stone fruit growing regions around the world.
SPLAT OFM has been independently evaluated in many field studies with
outstanding results. A study by Michigan State University researchers in 2006
shows that one hand application of SPLAT OFM in late spring effectively disrupts
the OFM for the duration of an entire season.
For the US, because of required US EPA and state product registration for mating disruption control products, this product can only be applied in states with currently valid state registrations. Please contact us for more information.
