SPLAT LBAMTM
For the control of light brown apple moth, Epiphyas postvittana |
|
ISCA Technologies is pleased to introduce three new products for the management of the light brown apple moth, Epiphyas postvittana: SPLAT LBAM HD, SPLAT LBAM HD Organic and SPLAT LBAM LD Organic. All SPLAT formulations are environmentally friendly mating disruption products that provide sustained and controlled release of the light brown apple moth (LBAM) pheromone. Independent field studies have shown SPLAT LBAM to be effective at reducing LBAM populations and an independent field study in New Zealand demonstrated that SPLAT LBAM outperforms competitor mating disruption formulations.
Currently available formulations:
SPLAT LBAM HD: Mating disruption formulation for light brown apple moth.
SPLAT LBAM HD Organic: Mating disruption formulation for light brown apple moth, EPA approved for use in organic certified farms.
SPLAT LBAM is an outstanding alternative to standard pesticide treatments, where moths are found to develop resistance to insecticides. Since SPLAT LBAM treatments only disrupt the mating of LBAM, it does not have any negative impact on beneficial insects.
The larvae of the light brown apple moth will feed on many different kinds of crops, so it has the potential to cause economic damage to almost any crop in the vicinity. In New Zealand, the LBAM has been found to damage hundreds of different plant species. LBAM was recently found on the west coast of the United States, where is has the potential to damage crops of strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, grapes, cherries, citrus, apples, peaches and pears, among others.
Due to the flowable and amorphous characteristic of SPLAT, compared to hand applied pheromone dispensers, SPLAT application costs can be significantly lowered with mechanical application options such as: tractors, metered backpack sprayers, grease gun, caulking guns, aircraft, etc.
The inert ingredients of all SPLAT products are biologically inert, bio-degradable, and certified by the EPA to be suitable for food use.
For the US, this product is approved for mating disruption control by the US Environmental Protection Agency. However, some US states may require additional state registrations. For more information or to place an order, please reference the information below or contact us.
