SPLAT GM is an environmentally friendly mating disruption product that provides sustained and controlled release of the GM pheromone. Independent field studies have shown SPLAT GM to be an effective mating disruption product. SPLAT GM is an excellent alternative to standard pesticide treatments, where moths may develop resistance to insecticides.
In 2009, SPLAT GM was officially approved as an operational product for the USDA Forest Service, Slow the Spread (STS) of Gypsy Moth program, one of only 2 approved mating disruption formulations for the STS program, and the only mating disruption formulation approved in almost 20 years. SPLAT GM has been aerially applied to more than 250,000 acres over 8 states in the north eastern United States as part of the STS program.
Due to the flowable and amorphous characteristic of SPLAT, compared to hand applied pheromone dispensers, SPLAT application costs can be significantly lowered with mechanical application options such as: tractors, metered backpack sprayers, grease gun, caulking guns, aircraft, etc.
The inert ingredients of all SPLAT products are biologically inert, bio-degradable, and certified by the EPA to be suitable for food use.
For the US, this product is approved for mating disruption control by the US Environmental Protection Agency. However, some US states may require additional state registrations. For more information or to place an order, please reference the information below or contact us.
